When Bears Attack... Rotten Wood!

There is evidence of bear foraging activity throughout Lost Lake. They love ants and termites, and will scrape away at dead trees to get at them.



Woodpeckers compete with bears for the same bugs and often help in the creation of new termite nests by pecking huge holes into live trees which allow infestation to readily occur.
